Giac Vien Pagoda
Giac Vien Pagoda is located on Lac Long Quan Street in Ho Chi Minh City. Master Huong Dang built it in 1805 in honour of Emperor Gia Long. At first it was a thatch-rooted hut used to worship Bodhisattva and was named Kwan-Yin. In 1805, it was renamed Giac Vien Pagoda by Ch'an Master Hai Tinh. The pagoda has conserved more than 150 statues and engravings, most of them dating from the late 19th century and early 20th century.
