World heritage tour
‘World heritage’ tour, starting from Hanoi to Quang Binh, Thua Thien-Hue, Quang Nam and Da Nang provinces will be very attractive to visitors in the coming time.
Joining this tour, visitors will have a chance to enjoy the beauty of famous tourist attractions like the Phong Nha cave in Quang Binh, tombs, garden houses and the national park of Bach Ma in Thua Thien-Hue, Ngu Hanh mountain, Ba Na and the ancient town of Hoi An in Da Nang, the My Khe beach and My Son in Quang Nam. The first destination of the tour is the Phong Nha cave. Going a long the Son river, which snakes through the mountain foot, visitors can see landscapes on either bank of the river. From a far distance, the gate of the cave is very low so boats seem not to be able to go through. In fact, the gate is quite large, 10 metres high and 25 meters wide. This is also the gate of the Phong Nha underground river. This river is 7,730 meters long. Its shallowest point is 50 meters and the deepest, 83 meters. During the summer days, when the temperature outside can reach 40 degrees, the temperature inside the cave is just between 17 and 19 degrees centigrade. That is why the cave is considered a tremendous natural air conditioner. After four explorations of the cave, British cave explorers have affirmed that Phong Nha is the leading wet cave in the world, because it accommodates a underground river and has the largest gate. The dry cave is the largest and the most beautiful with the most magnificent stalactites.
Next stop is Thua Thien-Hue province, whose the ancient Imperial Capital City of Hue was recognized as a world heritage by the UNESCO in 1995. This is a meeting place of European and Asian architectures with seven tombs of Nguyen dynasty kings. Thua Thien-Hue has the national park of Bach Ma located at a height of 1,200 meters above sea level. This is an ideal area for eco-tourism activities. The park accommodates 500 kinds of plants and 300 species of animals. In the future, the park, along with Canh Duong and Lang Co beaches, will form an eco-tourism triangle. Going further to the south, visitors will reach Ngu Hanh mountain in Da Nang with a stone craft village, where many stones works have been made over centuries. From the year 2000, the authorities of Da Nang restored the Ba Na tourism attraction, which was built under the French rule. The ancient town of Hoi An and My Son sacred land was recognized as world heritage sites in 1999. The ancient town of Hoi An consists of small streets with ancient and very old houses. The My Son sanctuary has over 70 citadels and castles which were built from the fifth to seventh century.
